Metals
Metals are very important to us. They are used extensively
in many different areas. Construction relies heavily on
metals. Your car is metal. The parts inside your
computer are made with metal. As you can see they are
everywhere. If you happen to study the periodic table of
elements, you will notice that many of the elements are metals.
Advisors from scienceproject.com developed the following project to
test and increase your knowledge of metals.
Activities of
Metals
Introduction:
Many metals react with other
chemicals; however, the rate of reaction varies among different
metals. Some metals react with water, some metals react with acids,
and finally some other metals are inactive and do not cause any
reaction with acids.
Variations in activity of metals
have many industrial applications. Some use such variations to
extract valuable metals such as silver from waste water of film
development process. Some use variations in metals activity to do
plating without using electricity.
How do we know which metals are
more active and which one are less active?
Project
description:
In this project you will test and rank several metals based on their
chemical activity.
